Hello and welcome to my writing room. I am primarily a professional mixed media artist, but I have been writing blogs and essays since my boys were young. I have been doing the slow steady climb up the hill of a Visual Artists career over the past 24 years, so some of my writing will cover those topics.
As an imported trans-racial adoptee- meaning I was taken from my birth country of Korea to be adopted into a family with White parents, I advocate for the transracial adoptee community. Topics such as birth parent search, family relationships, race in the US, adoption issues, and resources are covered in my work. As an advocate, it is important to provide authentic adoptee voices in the narrative around adoption.
I am also a mother of two college-age bi-racial sons, and the wife of a former Philadelphia Police officer, who has been working as a military contractor for the past decade. Living a long distance, virtual marriage is a topic you will find in my essays and poems.
Whatever the topic, I will be sharing both my art and my writing in pursuit of making burdens a little lighter and being, if only for a moment, better. Better can be my guarantee- more will be the icing.
